FOG Program Purpose
Fats, Oils, and grease (FOG) is a major contributor to sanitary sewer overflows, backups, and high operational costs. Sewer overflows and backups can be expensive, unsanitary, and inconvenient. The Commission created a FOG program to help combat sewer backups and costly sewer treatment costs.
The FOG Program requires compliance of interceptor devices at all food service establishments and vehicle maintenance facilities through inspections and maintenance records. We also try to provide educational information for our residential customers. So, help JMWSC keep our pipes clean and operational cost low by educating yourself about FOG!
FOG Program Summary
Fats, Oils, and grease (FOG) can cause sewer backups in your home or business and increases maintenance costs if not properly handled. The Commission’s FOG program is designed to equip you with knowledge and guidance so that FOG doesn’t impact you.
