Each year at the SC Environmental Conference (SCEC), the Water Environment Association of South Carolina presents dozens of awards recognizing members' dedication and service to our industry. During the 2025 SCEC Awards Ceremony, Candice Morris, received the 2025 Administrative Professional of the Year Award. This award was inspired by Jennifer F. Wertz who lost her life in a car accident in 2017. Ms. Wertz’s loss to her employer, Saluda County Water and Sewer Authority, was devastating emotionally and operationally. It revealed how critical administrative professionals are to water and sewer utilities. This award is modeled after the exceptional qualities which Ms. Wertz possessed. This award is given annually for excellence in administration of a water, wastewater, collection, or distribution system in South Carolina.
